Author Annette LeBox

Not only did Annette LeBox come to visit our school as an author of some amazing books about the animals in Maple Ridge, but she came into our class to teach us about 'Leaf Classification'.  Not only was she a teacher and now is an author but she is also a naturalist.

We learned about compound and simple leaves.  Lobed vs. Toothed and three types of veins... Palmate, Pinnate, and Parallel.  We get to test out our leaf classification on our trip to UBC Research Forest.

Showing how the author edits the illustrations to match the story...

Magic socks!

Thank you for sharing such wonderful leaf classifications with us...

Thank You Annette for signing our Sandhill Crane Pictures.
